Bio: Kane Mar is a Certified Scrum Trainer (CST) and Scrum Coach (CSC) specializing in Scrum and Extreme Programming. He has been working exclusively with Agile software development teams since 2001 and has worked with clients such as QPass, Microsoft, Capital One, Progressive, and TransCanada Pipelines. Kane believes that learning is most effective if done through a combination of exercises, games, and discussion. He has constructed his training materials to provide an educational but still enjoyable course.

Kane is also experienced in guiding organizations that are transitioning to an Agile organization. This includes preparing senior management and business partners for changes resulting from the introduction of Scrum.

Prior to his work with Agile software development, Kane had 15 years of experience as a developer and project manager for Waterfall and RUP projects working with Java, Smalltalk, C, SQL and PL/SQL. Kane’s recent technical interests have turned towards Ruby primarily because of its similarlity to Smalltalk.

Bio: I am an Agile Coach and Trainer from London, UK, currently residing and working in Belgium, with frequest trips to the USA. I have a background in software development, graphic design, theatre arts, and team/groupwork facilitation. I have a keen mind, an anarchic edge and a passion for corporate enlightenment.

I currently work as a change agent, trainer and facilitator, providing coaching and consulting services to teams and organizations making the transition to more agile, trustful and team-centered ways of working. My current core focus is on the Scrum process, offering both public and private training classes to explore the principles and practices of Scrum. I have developed a fast-moving and energizing style of “immersion training” for teams that provides an extremely high yield of knowledge for participants: knowledge that is not just learned, but embodied.

My coaching work is essentially at a grass roots level within an organization, but more recently I have been exploring how the Scrum principles can be applied within the field of organizational development. I am interested in how management by consensus, and the qualities of self-organization, empiricism and emergence can be used across the wider corporate culture to free the creative spirit and improve both human relationships and productivity.
